A gryphon jumps over a broken wall as he runs into battle. Commission for Sable Gryphon, who is a total sweetie, to commemorate the time that he spent in Iraq. So, let's all commemorate Sable and thank him for risking his life for our protection on a daily basis, while we played video games, spoke the way we wanted to for people, wore whatever the hell we wanted to, and enjoyed other freedoms we take for granted everyday. I've always dreamt of creating something like this, and with the fantasy fair coming up I wanted to give it a try. Both parts used where damaged. The mouse was dragged in by the neighborhood cat and was missing bits of the head, and the bird came from a breeder and died during molting and was thus missing the rump feathers. ~To whom it may concern, (please read before accusing me of anything!) The animals used in this project died a natural cause. NONE of the animals I work on are killed for the purpose of taxidermy only and most are found along side the road or come from bird/animal breeders in the area.

I had one of those moments where I had a TON of things to do...but then my muse said "Guess what? You're doing a drawing instead!" And this is what popped out! I'm very pleased with the way it turned out too :) 9x12" Bristol Board, inked with Microns, coloured with Prismacolour Markers and Pencils with a Galaxy Marker for the snow flakes and on the trees.

I decided to make a faun as my personal costume for 2006. It gave me the excuse to work with and try several things I hadn't been able to before, and I'm actually quite pleased with the results. I'd like to get a set of leather armor made for this at some point, and even later on I plan on using this as a base for a more complex demoness costume.
