Since we can't stick anything to the doors of the hotel at conventions, I made a doorhanger out of some heavy-stock paper. Hopefully, the wolf pictured will like it. :-)

Ahh, waiting in line for our annual "let's get all our paperwork up to date" National Guard Drill saw me sketch and ink this lovely piece. Finding a Ben Franklin store in town where I could get some colored pencils made my night happy. :-) Gift art for a special wolf in my life.

Too lazy to wrap presents, so I decorate the shipping boxes instead! (It also gives the Post Office workers something to look at :-D ) I'm particularly proud of this portrait, on a box sent to my sister and brother-in-law. The text says, "Gift box *masquerading* as a plain shipping box due to Lazy Gryphon Package Service (tm). Do NOT open 'til Christmas!"

Small suitcase art - front by Tyrrlin

Ahh, my HUGE suitcase is really too big (and heavy!) to take on flights anymore as I found out recently. Soooo, I went to Target and got a smaller rolling suitcase, in black. Since everyone has black suitcases anymore, I decorate mine to make them stand out in the carousel. This is the portrait I painted on my new smaller 'case.

Yeah, no one tries to claim MY suitcase! I had the front already decorated, but since this one invariably falls face down on the carousel, I decided to paint the back, too. Lines in silver paint marker, color done with fabric paints.

Here is the finished product...at least for Anthrocon 2008. My suit is entirely hand-made by me and took nearly three years (on and off) to finish. Thanks for Ahkil for the picture.

Military Raptors - Army Eagle #1 by Tyrrlin

This piece made its debut at Anthrocon 2008. I came up with the idea of various birds of prey representing the different branches of the Armed Forces, and here is the first of the series... if it ever becomes a series. :-P Drawing the new ACU pattern is mind-boggling, I tell ya!

Clarinet Cat #1 by Tyrrlin

Part of my "Peter and the Wolf" series, this is my new sculpture concept that combines art with my new career training in Instrument Repair. I took a clarinet and resculpted it into a cat using only clarinet pieces and woodwind/instrument adhesives and techniques. Clarinet Cat made a splash at his debut during AnthroCon 2008 and won Honorable Mention in the "Director's Choice" category.

Here is the requested Part II to my piece "On crutches." Panzier wanted this piece to be his tiger character with a bulging belly, picking his teeth with the remnants of the crutches. Relatively quick piece - 2+ hours. So evil, but kinda funny too!
